The attendant is standing by for the customary slamming shut. And Liverpool still have work to do in the summer transfer window as the deadline looms.
The market will close in England on Tuesday, September 1 at 11pm, after which the Reds will have to wait until January to continue refashioning the squad under new head coach Andoni Iraola.
Liverpool have made strengthening their forward options a priority and have had two bids rejected by Brighton for Gambian right-winger Yankuba Minteh, with the Seagulls holding out for in excess of £70million.
The Reds are also still interested in Bradley Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain but have thus far shown no indication they would be willing to meet the asking price which was initially reported as being at least £130m.
Elsewhere, there are question marks over the future of Cody Gakpo with Tottenham Hotspur continuing to court the Netherlands international, while loan moves could be in the offing for a number of Academy players with Ifeanyi Ndukwe the latest to go out on a temporary exit after his switch to La Liga side Levante was confirmed on Saturday.
