Archie Gray blasted Tottenham’s dismal opening-day defeat at Brentford as “not good enough”.
Spurs handed debuts to five players after their expensive summer rebuild but were brought crashing back down to earth after a 3-0 thumping.
New boys Andy Robertson, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi and £100million midfielder Sandro Tonali all started, while Mateus Fernandes came on at half-time.
But new-look Spurs showed the same old flaws as goals from Keane Lewis-Potter, Vitaly Janelt and Michael Kayode sent them packing.

“It’s disappointing and I don’t really know what to say to be honest,” Gray told the club website.
“We just lost too many duels and it was not good enough from us.
“They’re a team that if you don’t fully match their energy, then you’re going to get punished. There’s no hiding away from them, especially away.
“It’s a difficult place to come, but that’s not an excuse and it wasn’t good enough.”
Gray made history for Tottenham after being named captain, becoming the youngest player to wear the armband for Spurs in a competitive match.

Aged 20 years and 163 days, Gray broke the record held by Tottenham great Steve Perryman.
Midfielder Perryman was 20 years and 260 days old when he was first named Spurs skipper in the early 1970s.
“It’s not the exact game that you want to be captain,” added Gray. “But obviously, just thinking about the names that you can mention to be the captains of the football club, it’s incredible.”
