Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic has agreed a new three-year contract. The news comes a day after the Tigers earned a memorable 2-0 win over Manchester United.

Jakirovic's side earned promotion to the Premier League last season after a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough in the Championship Playoff final. That victory at Wembley Stadium in May secured top-flight football at the MKM Stadium for the first time since the 2014/15 campaign.

Hull have been tipped by many as favourites to go straight back down to English football's second-tier after just one season back in the big time. But Saturday's surprise win over United, who finished third last term, will give some observers food for thought.

And Hull Live understands that the Tigers' Bosnian boss is set to sign a new contract. The 49-year-old arrived on Humberside on a two-year deal in June 2025.
