Manchester United have confirmed the temporary departure of another promising academy talent.
Man United have officially announced that Jacob Devaney has joined Hibernian on a season-long loan.
The Edinburgh club are bidding to reach the league phase of a European competition for the first time.
They recently drew 0-0 with Belgian side Gent in the away leg of their Conference League play-off.
Devaney spent the second half of the previous campaign on loan at St Mirren.
He gained valuable experience by making 18 appearances.
He completed an impressive 91% of his passes, while averaging nearly three tackles and six recoveries per game.
A return to the Scottish Premiership looks like a smart move for United, allowing Devaney to continue his development in a league and an environment he already knows well.
The 19-year-old was also part of the pre-season squad under head coach Michael Carrick.
Primarily a defensive midfielder, Devaney showcased his versatility by filling in at centre-back against Wrexham and Rosenborg.
The starlet is highly rated at Carrington and has also developed as a leader in the youth set-up.
Devaney has the potential to eventually break into United’s first team, but regular senior football will be crucial to sharpening his game.
With only a few days remaining in the transfer window, the Red Devils could now accelerate the departures of several more academy players.
Fellow youngsters Dan Gore and Toby Collyer could also be heading towards the exit door at Old Trafford as United look to secure valuable playing time for their prospects.
