Patrick Berg has been linked with moves to Leeds United and Everton after his fine performance for Norway at the 2026 World Cup, but he could still stay at Bodo/Glimt.
At Glimt, he is one of their most important players and one of the first names on the team sheet, with the club relying heavily on him. That means he gets plenty of game time and remains a key part of their plans.
They have been one of Norway’s best performers in all competitions for some time, often overperforming in European competitions, so the midfielder is playing for a good team that allows him to face top opponents.
They could make the league phase of the Champions League again this season, but should Berg change clubs and move to a bigger league in this window?
Berg has options in England
Several Norwegians now play in bigger leagues, and Berg is a player who could certainly do well in England’s top flight. However, his national team manager, Ståle Solbakken, is not particularly worried about whether he leaves Bodo/Glimt.
Berg has already established himself as an important player for both his club and country, and remaining at Glimt would give him another opportunity to compete at a high level in European football.
A move to England could offer him a new challenge, but there is also value in continuing to play regularly for a team that competes in European competitions.
Solbakken backs Berg’s decision
For now, Solbakken believes Berg has plenty of options and does not need to rush into a move. The midfielder can continue to develop at Bodo/Glimt while enjoying the opportunity to compete in the Champions League.
His manager also believes that Berg has the ability to play at the highest level, regardless of where he decides to continue his career.

“He can play anywhere, so I think the Champions League is tempting again. Patrick can play anywhere; now he is in Bodø/Glimt, so it looks good.”
