There is no pathway back to Liverpool for Trent Alexander-Arnold despite rumours this summer.
The 27-year-old chose to move to Madrid, where he signed a €600,000-a-week deal after running down Liverpool contract talks to secure a free transfer to the Spanish capital.
Ibrahima Konate has since mimicked Alexander-Arnold, but both have lost the love and faith of the Liverpool fanbase, who feel scorned.
There have been rumours of a shock return to Anfield for the right-back, but that bridge, unfortunately, has been well and truly burned.
Liverpool have moved on into a new era, and it no longer includes him.
Sadly, based on Spanish media, Alexander-Arnold has lost his place in the Real Madrid team to Denzel Dumfries, with Mourinho preferring the defensive solidity of the Dutchman.

The right-back has now revealed how all this negativity and scrutiny has affected him, saying he understands why fans felt so hurt about the situation.
He said: “The booing and disappointment from Liverpool supporters is something I’m absolutely able to shoulder. I can understand it, in my own way. I heard a lot during that period that Liverpool fans didn’t want to be told how to feel or think, and I agree. But I hope one day there’ll be a degree of understanding about the decisions I wanted to make around my own life.
“It hurts because of how much I’ve put into the club over the course of 20 years and the sacrifices I made for the club during that period. So of course it hurts, but I understand the disappointment. I even understand anger expressed through booing.”

Quizzed about bolstering Liverpool’s defensive options and finding a partner for Virgil van Dijk, Iraola said: “We have the advantage of having Virgil.
“Virgil has been one of if not the best defender of the last decade, I would say.
“We have to surround him properly. We think with Jeremy Jacquet, with Leoni, we have the centre-backs that we want here long term.
“We also have the situation with Joe, who covers us centre-back and right-back. We trust also Conor Bradley, I think he’s going to be the long-term solution for the right-back position.
“So I think it made sense to sign Araujo, because in the end, it’s a player that I knew very well from LaLiga, he’s a centre-back, he can cover us also in the right-back position.
“I’m very happy right now with the position.
“As long as we start recovering Leoni, we start recovering Joe Gomez, I think we’ll be good to go in that defensive side.”
