New Twist To Aston Villa's Pursuit of Taylor Harwood-Bellis

On Sunday evening it was revealed that Aston Villa had put in a second bid for Taylor Harwood-Bellis, but less than 12 hours later a new twist has emerged in the ongoing situation.
[BBC Sport](http://bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/aston-villa) have reported on Monday morning that Aston Villa have been in contact with Club Brugge in Belgium.
They are interested in 22 year old Ecuadorian central defender Joel Ordonez.
According to [transfermarkt.co.uk](http://transfermarkt.co.uk/joel-ordonez/profil/spieler/893661) Ordonez is worth around £30 million, and Villa would hope to get him at slightly less than that.
Ordonez joined Club Brugge in 2023 and had flourished ever since racking up 85 appearances in the Jupilo Pro league, to add to the season he had played in the second tier of Belgian football.
He has also 22 appearances in the Champions league, something that will attract Villa as they prepare for their forthcoming campaign, as well as 20 caps for Ecuador including 3 in the World Cup finals this year.
On the face of it he looks an attractive proposition, so the question is whether Aston Villa will go for him as an alternative to Taylor Harwood-Bellis or to play along side him.
