Fabian Hurzeler insists Brighton's win against Aston Villa shows they can replace Yankuba Minteh.
The flying Gambian winger is currently sidelined with an ankle issue and has been heavily linked with a £60m summer switch to Liverpool.
The deal for Minteh, 22, is widely expected to go through before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Brighton are also expected to lose midfielder Carlos Baleba for a similar fee as Manchester United finalise a move for the 22-year-old Cameroon international.
Hurzeler was asked about Minteh's situation in the press conference after the impressive win against Villa.
The German head coach avoided the Liverpool transfer speculation but gave a general update on Minteh’s injury and how Brighton replaced him.
Minteh is important for us
"Yeah, I think we know that he [Minteh] has an issue with his ankle," said Hurzeler.
"So we have to see how the next weeks are going, how this will develop, because of course he's an important player for us.
"But we saw today we were able to replace him, it's very important that we don't rely on one player.
"Of course these kind of players are so important, one against one, good speed, but in the end you need to face adversity.
"You need to find solutions as a team and that's what my team did today and hopefully Yankuba comes back as quick as possible."
£140m for Minteh and Baleba
Minteh joined Brighton for around £30m from Newcastle in 2024. He has made 73 appearances for Brighton with 10 goals and nine assists.
He is contracted with the Seagulls until 2029 and talks between Liverpool and Brighton are said to be continuing. Albion are believed to be holding out for final figure of £70m.
Alongside this, Brighton continue to negotiate with Manchester United as they look to conclude a deal for Baleba. £70m could get the job done here as well.

Brighton were missing the talents of Baleba and Minteh for their opening day 4-0 win against Villa. Winger Kaoru Mitoma was also missing as he recovers from a hamstring injury
Brighton were 4-0 up inside 31 minutes following Victor Lindelof’s own goal, a close-range finish from Maxim De Cuyper and Jack Hinshelwood’s quickfire double.
Villa Midfielder Joao Gomes – a summer signing from Wolves – was sent off on his league debut five minutes shy of half-time for kicking out at Georginio Rutter to add to the visitors’ woes on a humiliating afternoon.
Hurzeler said: “The first five, six, seven minutes we struggled controlling the game, Villa started strong, they had the ball, they had two or three shots.
“But then afterwards we got the control back by good intensity against the ball, by winning some personal duels, by forcing them to do mistakes and like this the first goal happens.
“And then afterwards we were also better in possession, better structure, better positioning, we scored some nice goals. Of course the red card was another game changer.
“And then we played a mature second half because it’s not that easy when you’re one man up to find a good balance between keeping the ball, attacking the box, but don’t give away too many chances for Villa.”
