Fabian Hurzeler hopes to see Yankuba Minteh back in action as soon as possible.
The Albion winger has been ruled out by injury since the friendly against Roma.
While sidelined, he has been subject of bids from Liverpool.
Reports suggest leading figures at Anfield discussed making a further offer for Minteh when they met over the weekend.
Hurzeler spoke about the player’s importance but also highlighted Albion found a way to replace him as they beat Aston Villa 4-0.
Speaking after the Villa game, the Albion head coach said: “We know that he has an issue with his ankle.
“We have to see how the next weeks are going, how this will develop because, of course, he is an important player for us.
“But we saw today we are able to replace him.
“It is very important that we don’t rely on one player.
“Of course, these kinds of players are so important. One against one, good speed.
“But, in the end, you need to face adversity. You need to find solutions as a team and that is what my team did today.
“Hopefully, Yankuba comes back as quick as possible.”
Maxim De Cuyper was productive from the left against Villa and Albion unleashed genuine winger Ibrahim Osman in the second half.

Meanwhile Kaoru Mitoma, who watched from the West Lower, continues rehab after a hamstring injury which denied him a trip to the World Cup.
Hurzeler said: “He is doing good. He is back on the pitch. He is doing his rehab.
“I hope it is not that long but we still have to be a little bit patient.”
Minteh is widely reported to be high on the winger hit-list at Liverpool along with Bradley Barcola at PSG, who is thought to be their top choice.
But it is understood they would be happy to sign both if Cody Gakpo moves on before the forthcoming deadline.
