West Ham lose out on #1 defender target to Premier League Coventry

**Ethan Pinnock is closing in on a move to Coventry City.**

The Brentford legend was disclosed as a target for West Ham United by our very own ExWHUEmployee last week, but he is now set for a move to the Premier League.

“There are some experienced Premier League defenders that have come into the mix and enquiries will be made next week. The players are said to have leadership skills and this is clearly needed after yesterday’s penalty debacle.

“Ethan Pinnock of Brentford remains a possible target that ticks those boxes but there are others. Pinnock was an unused sub for Brentford in their 3-0 win over Spurs yesterday.”

Pinnock wouldn’t have been an exciting signing necessarily, but as Ex said, he would’ve ticked the boxes; he is exactly the type of player we need to partner Mavropanos this season.

He’s left-footed, experienced in the lower leagues, 6 foot 4, good in the air, comfortable on the ball, and a ‘proper’ centre-back. He’s everything Max Kilman isn’t, and that’s what this team needs in its defence.

The 33-year-old is closing in on a £6 million move to newly promoted Coventry, so I’m sure that rules us out of the race to sign him, it will be interesting to see who we go for now because we can’t rely on Kilman any longer.
