Followers of Manchester United's academy have wondered how JJ Gabriel will transition to Under-21 football.
Gabriel was head and shoulders above his peers at Under-18 level throughout last season, and he looked a cut above again on Monday evening when he made his competitive U21 debut against Ipswich.
The 15-year-old was dwarfed in height by some of Ipswich's players, but his special quality on the ball saw him compete against players much his senior. Michael Carrick watched from the stands alongside his assistant, Steve Holland, and the pair would have loved what they saw from the youngster.
