Sheffield Wednesday appear to be closing in on the capture of an Ipswich Town forward
Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly agreed a deal to sign forward Ali Al-Hamadi from Ipswich Town.
The 24-year-old has been on the books at Portman Road for two-and-a-half years, having been recruited after a goal-laden spell in League Two with AFC Wimbledon.
He has since made 29 appearances for the Tractor Boys, scoring five goals, and has spent time on loan at Stoke City and Luton Town.
His spell at Luton was marred by injury and the criteria-dependent buy obligation in his clause was not activated. Ipswich were promoted to the Premier League in his absence, casting further doubt on the Iraq international’s future.

Sheffield Wednesday ‘agree’ deal to sign Ipswich Town forward
According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Wednesday have reached an agreement to add Al-Hamadi to their attack.
The League One outfit have shown plenty of ambition in the transfer market and Al-Hamadi would arguably be another intriguing addition to Henrik Pedersen’s squad.
A report from TWTD has indicated Wednesday are set to land the frontman on a temporary basis.

Wednesday would be securing the signature of a player looking to get his career back on track after a tough spell.
He was limited to just 14 outings for Luton last term as injury robbed him of the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
However, Al-Hamadi is undoubtedly a player with the potential to be a threat at League One level. When he joined Luton last year, then-Hatters boss Matt Bloomfield said: “I’m really excited about this one. I’ve been a long-time admirer of his, and it’s a real signing of intent, especially having seen the way he’s developed over the past couple of years.

“He’s an incredible man, someone who is comfortable in himself and isn’t afraid to speak his mind. As a player, he’s got pace and power and wants to get in behind and score goals.
“His game really kicked on at Wimbledon and since moving to Ipswich, he’s played with some really top players which has improved his all-round game. He’s currently working back to fitness from a slight calf injury, but we’re really looking forward to him being a big part of our future.”
