No less than eight clubs feature in our first full Yorkshire Post Team of the Week for the 2026-27 season - with all of the county's EFL and Premier League representatives now up and running.
Hull City lead the way with three player nominations following a magnificent opening-day win over Manchester United.

Konstantinos Tzolakis (Hull City)
The Greek has arrived in England with a big reputation and it was easy to see why against United. Assured and made one first-class save to deny Mbeumo.
Defence
Nobel Mendy (Hull City)
Netted a key goal and was authoritative on his Tigers bow; a vintage afternoon out east.

Jaka Bijol (Leeds United)
Leeds' defence all stood tall at the City Ground and Bijol was probably the pick of the bunch.
Sam Gale (Barnsley)
Showed his pace and ability to read the game in a slick derby showing in Doncaster.
Aden Baldwin (Bradford City)
Resolute at the back and showed his predatory instincts in front of goal to win City the game at Hillsborough on their first league visit since February 2005. Oh and he's currently the Bantams' top-scorer this term with two.

Neill Byrne (Doncaster Rovers)
Commanding derby performance from the veteran who was always in control.
Midfield/wing-backs
Ibou Touray (Bradford City)
City's quiet leader and 'Mr Consistent'. Outstanding in second half at Sheffield Wednesday.
Billy Mitchell (Sheffield Wednesday)
Showed his combative qualities on an encouraging debut for the Owls. Will only get better too.
Alex Newby (York City)
Proved a thorn for the Millers and struck a well-taken goal, while also being denied by Ted Cann.

Forwards
Joe Taylor (Huddersfield Town)
Continued his impressive renaissance at Town with a turbo-charged goal at MK and should have had another, but for a terrible call - or non-call - by the officials.
Oli McBurnie (Hull City)
No goal maybe, but led the line superbly and answered any critics who say he won't cut it in the Prem. Did hit the post, mind.
