Manchester United will have to cough up around £43million should they hope to sign Nicolo Tresoldi. United are said to have been monitoring the 22-year-old Club Brugge striker on a daily basis after being impressed by his efforts in the Belgian Pro League.
Now, they have learned exactly how much it will cost to persuade Brugge to let their talisman leave ahead of next week's transfer deadline. As per Bulinews, the Belgian outfit have slapped a price tag of around £43m on Tresoldi, highlighting his capability on the pitch and importance to their long-term vision.
Whether United will be willing to pay that price, however, remains to be seen. That's considering a number of other areas are thought to be the club's priority at present, including a need for at least one more central midfielder and a left-back.
AS Roma are said to have had a £29.9m bid knocked back for Tresoldi, showing that Brugge are standing firm in their valuation. And on top of a hefty price tag, United will also need to navigate stiff competition for the centre-forward.
Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Barcelona have also been linked with the German U21 international, who has shown sure signs of promise early into his career. Having arrived at the Jan Breydel Stadium last summer from Hanover 96, Tresoldi took very little time to settle into his new surroundings.
The youngster enjoyed a breakthrough season with Brugge, scoring 13 goals in 30 appearances en-route to winning a league title. And so far this season, Tresoldi has showed the exact same form.
The Cagliari-born talent has scored a goal in each of the three league matches he has featured in this term, including the decisive strike in the Blauw-Zwart's win over Cercle Brugge on Sunday.

On top of a significant price tag, United may also have to turn Tresoldi's head, given he is seemingly settled with his current club and has no plans on parting ways just yet.
It comes as United are thought to be interested in signing Alejandro Balde from Barcelona, as they look for reinforcement to the left-hand side of their defence.
With Luke Shaw at 31 and into the last year of his contract, the club may be looking to plan for the future. And while Newcastle United's Lewis Hall was through to be the club's priority target, Newcastle United's refusal to sell has forced them to look elsewhere.
Balde, 22, is looking for the doors of the Camp Nou having falled out of favour under Hansi Flick, and could be a suitable successor to Shaw. But whether the Reds will be willing to meet Barca's demands, or look elsewhere with just a week left of the window, remains to be seen.
