Ipswich Town will receive a sell-on fee when former striker Liam Delap completes a big money move from Chelsea to Nottingham Forest.

After scoring 12 goals in his debut season for the Blues, Chelsea triggered a £30m relegation release clause in his contract last summer.

The 23-year-old managed just one Premier League goal for the Stamford Bridge outfit in the season just gone. Despite that, Forest have reportedly agreed a club record deal 'worth at least £45m' to sign him ahead of the transfer window closing next week.

The EADT and Ipswich Star understands that Ipswich will receive around 20% of the £15m profit Chelsea are set to make on his sale - that equates to £3m.

Town remain in the hunt for a striker signing themselves, with Burnley's Zian Flemming the latest player linked.
