Feyenoord target move for Man United teenage sensation

Feyenoord are interested in Manchester United striker Chido Obi, according to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf.

The 18-year-old made his senior debut for United under former manager Ruben Amorim during the 2024/25 season, featuring in eight games across all competitions.

Obi did not feature for the first team last season, and United could be open to loan offers to help him gain more first-team experience.

De Telegraaf claim Feyenoord are hoping to sign the Denmark youth international on loan, but it remains to be seen whether they will seek an option to buy.

Bundesliga club Koln have also been linked with Obi this summer, but they have not made a formal approach.

Man United should be cautious over Feyenoord’s loan offer for Obi

Obi is considered one of the best teenage strikers in Europe, having forged his reputation at Arsenal before enhancing it at Man United.

The Danish youngster has continued to impress at youth level. He scored 20 goals and provided six assists for the United academy last season.

However, he has been unable to replicate his brilliance at the senior level.

If United decide to send him out on loan, they must ensure he joins a club where he is guaranteed regular playing time. He is unlikely to get that at Feyenoord.

The Dutch giants have Shaqueel van Persie, Ayase Ueda and Ignacio Ferri as centre-forward options.

Ferri is currently Feyenoord’s first-choice striker, with Van Persie providing cover for the 21-year-old.

The Mancunian giants should therefore be careful about sending Obi to Feyenoord unless they receive assurances over his playing time.

Obi could be ready to feature for Man United next season if he impresses during his loan spell.
