Lucas Herrington man-of-the-match on starting debut for Premier League's Hull City image
Australian teenager Lucas Herrington is making waves in England with a man-of-the-match performance on starting debut for Hull City.
The 18-year-old - fresh after coming off the bench in the Tigers' famous 2-0 win over Manchester United - was voted best player on the pitch by BBC in Hull's penalty shootout win against Stoke City in the Carabao Cup third round.
Herrington wasn't required to take a penalty in the shootout, with Hull getting through after the match was tied 1-1 after 90 minutes.
The Socceroo centre-half started in a back five before coach Sergej Jakirovic switched to a back four, with Herrington showing his versatility to play well in both systems.

Herrington had 90 per cent passing accuracy, including 96 percent in his own half, four clearances, three interceptions and five passes into the final third.
It's been a whirlwind beginning for Herrington at Hull, who signed for the club less than a fortnight ago from MLS side Colorado Rapids.
On August 15, only two days after signing with the club, Herrington played 20 minutes off the bench for Hull in their final pre-season friendly against Nice.
A week later, he was a second-half substitute in Hull's first-ever Premier League win against Manchester United, helping to resist a barrage of attacks as the Red Devils tried to claw their way back into the match.
It appears Jakirovic is keen to give Herrington plenty of opportunities at Hull, with his next chance to play coming against fellow promoted side Coventry in the Premier League on Sunday at 12:00am (AEST)/
