Fabinho and Mohamed Salah won it all during their time together at Liverpool and now they have the opportunity to do so again at a new club

Fabinho has admitted he is "excited" after reuniting with Mohamed Salah at Trabzonspor. The former Liverpool midfield lynchpin sealed a reunion with the Egyptian in north-east Turkey.
After leaving Liverpool this summer, Salah secured a free transfer to the Turkish heavyweights. The Egyptian offered a reminder to European football of what he is capable off by scoring twice in a 2-1 win against Istanbul Basaksehir, and was narrowly denied a hat-trick.
He could now go on to score even more now he is joined by his former Reds team-mate in Turkey. The Brazilian made the move to Trabzonspor having spent three years with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

After moving to the club, Fabinho uploaded an Instagram post of him engaging with his new fan-base while wearing the purple and blue kit. He said: "A new chapter on my life. Very excited for what’s coming. Let’s do it."
Alongside Salah at Anfield, Fabinho won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the League Cup and the Club World Cup.
Liverpool bought Fabinho from Monaco in the summer of 2018 for £39million. He made sure he was worth every penny by making 2019 appearances, helping himself to 11 goals and 11 assists during his time at the club.
During an interview in 2025, he admitted he was devastated to leave the Reds and made it clear he did not want to depart Anfield when he did. Fabinho said to The Guardian: "I didn’t want to leave the club and go to any other club in Europe.
"I thought it was the best place in the world to play, to keep developing as a player. I wanted my legacy and my history at the club to grow even more but our last season was very gruelling, tiring.
"We didn’t do well and failed to qualify for the Champions League. I lost my position as a starter for a few games, but that happens.

"I came back for the following season, even though the previous one hadn’t been good, with a very good mentality and wanting to fight for the Premier League title again.
"But before the season started, Al-Ittihad made an offer for me and the Liverpool directors said it was very good for the club and for me.
"I was afraid and decided to wait to see what [the coaching staff] would say. I thought I was an important player and that they would refuse any offer, but I realised that the club was open to selling me."
