Sheffield Wednesday were beaten 2-0 by the Championship side in the second round of the Carabao Cup at Hillsborough. SWFC were forced to substitute Gray near the end of the game due to concussion protocols after he will now need to be assessed.
Gray, 17, joined the Owls on a season-long loan deal from Leeds United earlier this summer. He has since made four appearances in all competitions for the South Yorkshire outfit, two of which have come in League One against Leyton Orient and Bradford City respectively.
In this latest update regarding his condition after he went off against Wolves, his head coach Pedersen has said, as per a report by The Star: “He’s Ok, but we don’t know if the nose is broken. That’s why he went off.”

Sheffield Wednesday are back in league action this weekend with a home clash against newly promoted Bromley as they aim to bounce back from their recent back-to-back defeats. They then have an away trip to Adams Park to play Wycombe Wanderers next Tuesday so they have plenty of fixtures coming up.

Sheffield Wednesday will make checks on Gray after taking him off against Wolves. SWFC won’t want to rush him back in against Bromley and will only play him if he is 100% able to.
The Owls landed the teenager earlier this summer to boost their attacking department. He gives them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch.
Gray is highly-rated by Leeds United and is being tipped for big things at Elland Road. The youngster was given the green light to head out the exit door on a temporary basis by the Whites to get some more experience under his belt.
He has risen up through their academy and has made once first-team outing. The England youth international spent time at Rotherham United last term and found the net on three occasions in 20 outings altogether during his time with the Millers.
