Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has been named the 2025/26 PFA Women’s Players’ Player of the Year.
Voted for by her fellow professionals, the prestigious individual accolade is the latest in a swathe of awards for the Jamaican, who was a central figure in City’s match to a first-ever WSL and FA Cup double.

Shaw plundered an impressive 27 goals in 32 outings in all competitions, with her English top flight tally of 21 helping her become the first player in the division’s history to win the Golden Boot for the third successive campaign.
That was the latest of several incredible milestones in our number nine’s career, with Bunny also becoming the first player in WSL history to surpass the 20-goal mark in three separate seasons.

The records kept on tumbling in 2025/26 for Shaw, with her four-goal haul in a 6-1 win over Aston Villa in December seeing her become the first women’s player in City’s history to reach, and then surpass, 100 goals.
Bunny’s recognition from the PFA is the second time she’s scooped the honour, having also done so in 2023/24.
It also followers her being named 2025/26 FWA Football of the Year and WSL Player of the Season, as well as surpassing 100 WSL goal contributions with two strikes in a 4-1 win over West Ham United in May 2026.
To underline her dominance in the WSL across her five seasons to date, she reached that tally in just 93 appearances.
After being named 2025/26 PFA Players’ Player of the Year, she said: “I’m extremely honoured to receive this award and would like to thank everyone who voted for me.
“Last season was one of the most special in both my career and City’s history, with so many people on and off the pitch contributing to us winning the WSL and FA Cup.
“I want to also thank each of them – you’ve all played a part in me receiving this award.
“It’s always a special feeling when you’re acknowledged by your fellow professionals, and I want to also congratulate every brilliant player who was shortlisted for this award, particularly my team-mate Yui Hasegawa.”
Manchester City Women’s Sporting Director Therese Sjögran said: “We’re all delighted for Bunny that she’s receiving this recognition after a fantastic season with City.
“As I’ve said before, she brings so much more than her incredible goal record and is a real leader for us on and off the pitch.
“The fact that her fellow professionals have recognised her with this award also speaks volumes of the respect and stature she has in the game.
“I would also like to congratulate Yui Hasegawa on making the shortlist for this year’s award – another fully deserved inclusion and proud moment for this Club.”
