Birmingham Latest Club Linked With Mehmeti

Birmingham City have reportedly joined the hunt for Blues forward Anis Mehmeti.
According to the _[Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.com/sport/football/article-16080717/Liverpool-explore-options-Brighton-wanting-80m-Yankuba-Minteh-Forest-open-talks-Celta-Vigo-defender-WINDOW-WATCH.html?ico=authors_pagination_desktop&banner=worldcup)_, Town want £9 million for the Albania international, who seems set to leave Portman Road before the transfer window closes next Tuesday.
Birmingham are said to have joined Wrexham and Derby in making offers for the 25-year-old, while Sheffield United are also understood to be keen.
Mehmeti, who joined the Blues from Bristol City for £3.5 million in January, signing a contract until the summer of 2029, was supposed to be involved in last night’s Carabao Cup victory over Leicester City but missed out due to illness.
“Anis was ill today, he would have been in the group,” manager Gary O’Neil said. “He was in the group, but when we reported for training this morning he was unwell.
“That was a shame because he would have got minutes, so as far as Anis not being in the squad, that was purely medical.”
Birmingham are also understood to retain an interest in Jack Taylor, who is still on his way back from the knee surgery he underwent at the end of last season.
