Michael Zetterer has completed a U-turn on his decision to stay at Eintracht Frankfurt with Leeds United now expected to sign him. The goalkeeper was being targeted as the replacement for Lucas Perri, who is expected to join Torino, which would see him arrive as the back-up to James Trafford.
That plan was initially why Zetterer wanted to stay in Germany as he prepared to compete for the No.1 spot at Frankfurt. His agent Nico Pellatz furthered the likelihood of him staying by openly dismissing the possibility of a transfer.
He said: "We are very surprised by reports that Michael Zetterer is close to a transfer. These are not true. Michael and his family feel very comfortable in Frankfurt. A transfer is currently out of the question for him."

However, according to Kicker, he has changed his mind and a departure is now 'imminent'. Their report states that Zetterer flew into Leeds over the weekend with that appearing to be the turning point as he can now envisage himself playing under Daniel Farke.
He will be playing a secondary role to James Trafford but he is now reportedly prepared to accept that. Zetterer will become the club's fifth summer arrival if he joins following Trafford, Harry Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic and Nico Elvedi to Elland Road.

The latter made his debut on Tuesday evening as the Whites beat Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. On Saturday, they beat Oliver Glasner's side 1-0 in the Premier League with Leeds then triumphing 2-0 in their second visit to the City Ground in just a few days.
Forest's lack of cutting edge has seen them agree a deal with Chelsea for Leeds target Liam Delap. Farke and Co. still want to bring in a striker with interest in RB Leipzig's Conrad Harder emerging.
Mykhailo Mudryk has also been linked with a loan move to Leeds ever since his ban for violating doping rules was removed. Other Premier League sides are interested with Chelsea's sister-club Strasbourg also an option.

However, a temporary switch from west London to Yorkshire is no longer on the cards, as per our sister-title football.london. A loan offer was made by Leeds last week but rebuffed and Chelsea have no plans to let him join.
Igor Paixao is still being linked with Leeds despite him favouring a move to Marseille last summer. The Ligue 1 club may now be forced to sell him due to financial problems with Premier League Sunderland entering the race for his signature.
According to Sky Sports, Regis Le Bris' side have made him their top target and even submitted a bid to sign him earlier this week.
