Carabao Cup third round draw: Brighton's ball number, potential opponents and where to watch

Brighton will keep a close watch on this week's Carabao Cup ties as they discover some of their potential opponents for the third round.

Brighton finished eighth in the Premier League last season and qualified for the Uefa Conference League. Brighton played the first leg of their qualifier in Tromso last Thursday as they battled to a 0-0 draw in Norway. The second leg is at the Amex Stadium this Thursday.

Due to European competition, the Seagulls enter the third round of the Carabao Cup after being exempt from the first two rounds, along with other Premier League clubs that qualified for Europe.

That means Brighton will join Champions League qualifiers Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Liverpool and Europa League's Bournemouth and Sunderland in the draw.

When is the Carabao Cup third round draw?

The draw for the Carabao Cup third round will be made on Wednesday, August 26. It will be conducted during Sky Sports’ live broadcast of the second round tie between Preston North End and Everton.

What is the pre-draw?

Brighton and the other top flight clubs in Europe will go into a pre-draw to determine if their ties will be home or away.

The pre-draw will take place on Sky Sports ahead of Preston North End’s home tie with Everton and the full draw will take place after the final whistle.
