Brighton, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest among clubs interested in talented Nigerian forward

Highly rated English-born Nigerian forward Bolu Shofowoke is attracting interest from clubs in the English Premier League and French Ligue 1.

The attacker has been identified as a future star and has already made 14 senior appearances for Peterborough United at the age of 17.

Just yesterday, Shofowoke scored his first senior goal as Peterborough United thrashed Watford to advance to the third round of the Carabao Cup, taking his goal involvements to three since his debut.

According to The Mirror UK, Brighton & Hove Albion have made enquiries about the availability of the talented forward but face competition for his services.

Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Chelsea's sister club Strasbourg are also admirers of the Nigerian teenager.

Shofowoke has a contract with The Posh until June 30, 2027, while the League One side also have a club option to extend his stay for the 2027-28 campaign.

He is in line for a pay rise after triggering appearance-related clauses in his existing deal.

A powerful and quick centre-forward, Shofowoke signed a scholarship deal with Peterborough United before the start of the 2025-26 season and was rewarded with a professional contract in October 2025 following his goalscoring exploits for the youth teams.

Shofowoke has been with Peterborough United since the age of 13.
