Everton advance Daniel Muñoz talks as Tottenham watch £25m deal

Everton remain in talks over a move for Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Muñoz, with the Blues reportedly ahead of Tottenham in the race for the Colombia international.

Muñoz has been on Everton’s radar during their search for a new right-back, but the latest update suggests their interest remains active heading into the final days of the transfer window.

Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra reports that Everton have not given up on the 30-year-old and are continuing discussions over a possible deal.

Tottenham are also monitoring the situation, although Everton are said to be further ahead at present.

Everton remain in Muñoz talks

Crystal Palace’s position could give Everton an opportunity.

The Guardian reported last week that Muñoz could be allowed to leave Selhurst Park following Palace’s summer recruitment, with his value put at around £25m. Everton, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest were all credited with interest.

There is no agreement between Everton and Palace and no bid has been reported in the latest update.

Muñoz started Palace’s 2-0 defeat at the Hill Dickinson on Saturday and has been a regular since joining from Genk in January 2024.

Everton have considered several right-backs this summer, with Strasbourg’s Guéla Doué among their leading targets.

The latest report suggests Muñoz remains firmly in the picture rather than simply being an alternative Everton looked at earlier in the window.

With Tottenham also interested, the next step will be whether Everton can turn those talks into an agreement with Palace before Tuesday’s deadline.
