Tottenham-linked Crystal Palace star is wanted by Everton.
Tottenham Hotspur have endured an underwhelming start to the new season, losing 3-0 to London rivals Brentford on the opening weekend. Even though they do not have European distractions this season, Roberto De Zerbi wants to beef up his squad before the September 1 transfer deadline.
Savio became the club’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window earlier this week. Omar Marmoush is also set to become a part of Roberto De Zerbi’s squad from Manchester City. In addition, the Lilywhites are looking at full-back options to replace Djed Spence, who was sold to Inter Milan earlier this month.
Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz has emerged as a target for Spurs. The Colombian full-back has been a consistent performer for Crystal Palace in the past two seasons, and he also raised his stock at the World Cup with some impressive displays. However, Tottenham aren’t the only Premier League clubs keeping tabs on him.
Everton pushing to sign Daniel Munoz
According to reliable Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra (h/t Sport Witness), Everton are pushing to sign Daniel Munoz. They have not given up on the 30-year-old and are continuing discussions with Crystal Palace over a possible deal. Tottenham are also monitoring the situation, although the Toffees are believed to be further ahead in the race.
Munoz has established himself as one of the most impressive right-backs in the Premier League since arriving at Palace from KRC Genk in early 2024. He has racked up 20 goal involvements (eight goals and 12 assists) in 83 Premier League appearances. The 30-year-old started the Eagles’ opening-weekend 2-0 defeat to Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Everton chiefs have seemingly been impressed by the Colombian star’s display in the 2-0 defeat, prompting them to push for his signature now. David Moyes views Munoz as a replacement for Seamus Coleman, who left the club in the summer after 17 remarkable years.

Tottenham also hold an interest in Munoz, although Sierra (h/t Sport Witness) says they are not currently as active as Everton. Interestingly, De Zerbi has considered using the Palace star as a winger instead of adding him as another right-back.
Munoz is naturally a right-back, but he operated as a wing-back in former boss Oliver Glasner’s system at Selhurst Park. The South American’s attacking qualities have been a big part of his game, which is why he has enjoyed a productive time with the Eagles in the Premier League. He can certainly make a difference with his attacking qualities at Spurs, which is much needed after what we saw vs. Brentford.
With Munoz’s signing, De Zerbi can actually kill two birds with one stone. The former Genk man would provide depth in the wide areas, whilst playing at right-back when Porro requires a breather. This means he could turn out to be a utility signing for the North Londoners.
