THE Cherries will host Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup third round.
The Championship side came out of the hat to face Bournemouth, who were handed a home draw earlier this evening in the pre-draw, before the main draw followed Everton’s victory over Preston North End.
That is due to the Cherries’ involvement in the Europa League, with the teams in that competition and those in the Champions League placed into pot one for the draw, and the remaining sides in pot two.
The third round games will take place across the weeks commencing September 7 and 14, with Champions League games played in the first of those weeks and Bournemouth’s first Europa League game in the second - so their tie against Lincoln will take place in that first week, commencing September 7.

The eight sides in those two continental competitions cannot face each other, as those European fixtures cannot be moved, hence the pre-draw earlier this evening.
Championship Lincoln thumped Blackpool 4-1 last night to reach the third round of the League Cup.
Bournemouth have been knocked out of this cup competition in the second round in each of the past two seasons, after consecutive fourth round eliminations.
Last term, they were beaten 2-0 by Brentford at the Vitality Stadium after a goal in each half from Fabio Carvalho and Igor Thiago.
