The £42million summer signing equalised just before half-time after the Magpies fell behind in the 19th minute to an Isaac Price free-kick.
The 20-year-old didn’t come out for the second half after being replaced by Harvey Barnes, who scored twice to United over the line in normal time to avoid penalties.
Why Bazoumana Toure was withdrawn at half-time v West Brom
Explaining Toure’s withdrawal, Jaissle told The Gazette: “It was clear that we wanted to rotate. Also, within the game, some lads, it was planned already in the half-time, some later on in the second half.
“As you know, we have really important matches on Saturday already in London.”
Barnes scored within three minutes of being introduced before netting again in the 81st minute, not long after Price equalised from the penalty.
“Not only goals,” Jaissle said on Barnes. “As you saw against Liverpool, he was doing a really great job. Not only in possession, but also out of possession. Disciplined, especially with the combination with Hally.
“They know each other now for a long time. I thanked him after the match, it was important that he scored.”
On edging past the Championship side, Jaissle said: “Relieved. It's always the most important thing in a cup round that you take the result. That's what we did against a strong opponent.
“I was just having a chat with their gaffer [James Morrison]. They're doing really well, I think they will play a great role in the Championship. But we also responded always good with all the rotations.
“It was important that we saw character on the pitch. Also, after the second equaliser, we stepped back, straight away we scored. That helped us, of course.
“Like I said, we're happy, entertaining match for the fans. I think I would have less headache if we were not conceding the penalties at the moment.”
