Liverpool has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for Bradley Barcola.

The 23-year-old has been a target for Liverpool throughout the summer, but a significant difference in valuation has prevented a deal from being agreed. However, with the transfer deadline fast approaching, the two sides appeared to be closing the gap on a fee, with growing confidence that a move could now be completed.

Liverpool and PSG are said to have agreed terms on the proposed deal overnight, with the package worth around £120 million ($163 million) in total, including more than £100 million ($136 million) guaranteed.

According to The Athletic, sporting director Richard Hughes and Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon are leading negotiations, with the final details now being ironed out on Thursday morning.

Nothing has been signed and the deal is yet to be completed, but Barcola's potential arrival could have implications for Cody Gakpo's future at Liverpool. The forward has been repeatedly linked with Tottenham Hotspur and has also attracted interest from Manchester City this summer.

Barcola has two years remaining on his PSG contract but has reportedly made it clear that he does not want to extend his stay with the European champions. He was also left out of the matchday squad for PSG's 2-2 draw with Rennes in their league opener.

The France international faced stiff competition for minutes from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue last season. He was increasingly used from the bench during the latter stages of PSG's Champions League campaign as Luis Enrique's side secured European glory.

Barcola still made 49 appearances across the 2025-26 season, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists as PSG retained its Ligue 1 crown alongside its Champions League triumph. Since breaking into the first team in 2021-22, the Lyon academy graduate has registered 39 goals and 37 assists in 152 appearances. He was also a key figure for France at this summer's World Cup, featuring in all eight matches and scoring three goals.

Liverpool have been looking to add more firepower to their attack throughout the summer, and Barcola could provide the directness and pace that Andoni Iraola wants from his forwards. The France international's ability to take on defenders and drive into dangerous areas would give Iraola another dynamic option on the wing as he looks to implement his more aggressive, front-foot style at Anfield.

With the transfer window approaching its conclusion, Barcola's potential arrival would also represent a major boost for Liverpool supporters, who have been waiting for a significant attacking addition.

Liverpool is also pushing to sign another new winger, with Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr now emerging as the Reds preferred target after difficult negotiations with Brighton over Yankuba Minteh.
