Fabian Hurzeler says his new left-back can be a great fit for Albion.
And he hopes he can help the squad immediately.
Jaouen Hadjam is on board from Young Boys for a fee of £9.5 million.
He was not part of the group training ahead of the Conference League play-off second leg at home to Tromso.
But he could be incorporated as attention switches to Sunday’s trip to Chelsea in the Premier League.
While Albion will give him to settle, they are convinced he has all the attributes they need on and off the pitch.
Head coach Hurzeler said: “I think he proved it already in the past, mostly in the World Cup, he is capable of playing at the highest level.

“He played in a different league with different demands so now it's very important how fast he can adapt to the Premier League, to the intensity of our game, how we want to play football.
“But I heard a lot of positive things and, like I always mention, we not only see the player, we do a lot of background information about how is his character.
“And he seems to be a really hard-working guy, very humble, so a great fit for us and hopefully he can help us immediately.”
