Manchester United's participation in the 2026/27 Champions League was confirmed nearly four months ago but their return to European football's top table is really starting to sink in after the league phase draw.
United will face Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Roma, Sporting, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Sabah and Como in their eight league matches. If Michael Carrick's side can finish in the top eight of the 32-team table they will automatically qualify for the knockout rounds, and if they finish between ninth and 24th they will go into the play-off round.
United haven't played a knockout Champions League tie since March 2022 - when they were beaten 2-1 on aggregate by Atletico Madrid - and they'll hope to change that miserable stat this season.
