Newcastle United fans are waiting on the club to make their next signing after announcing the arrival of Nico Gonzalez from Manchester City yesterday. And they are being linked with quite a few names.

Let’s see if serious moves are made for them. It would take a transfer fee north of €60 million to sign the Belgian forward. It is unclear what it would take to bring in the Moroccan international.
At the same time, though, there are plenty of players who could be heading for the exit door before the summer transfer window closes. In fact, contact has been made by Napoli, looking to bring in one such player on a loan deal.
According to [Fabrizio Romano](https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/2092994872332403136), Napoli made contact with Newcastle United over the last 24 hours to ask about Nick Woltemade’s availability on a loan deal.
Napoli have an easier option available with Marc Guiu from Chelsea. But the Italian club have also explored a move for Woltemade. The decision is up to Newcastle United.
Of course, if they agree to part ways with Woltemade this summer, that would represent a complete U-turn from what has been talked about for the past few months.
It has constantly been claimed that Woltemade is not available. But following his weak start to the season, are Newcastle United having second thoughts about the striker?
There were hopes that the appointment of a fellow German as manager would help Woltemade. Instead, it looks like he is an even worse fit in Jaissle’s system than he was under Eddie Howe.
Woltemade started the game against Championship side West Bromwich Albion last night and failed to make much of a positive impact.
So, it is not hard to understand why many Newcastle United fans might be starting to lose hope that Woltemade will ever make it at Newcastle United. But at the same time, there has to be a recognition that the club spent £64 million to sign him.
They simply cannot let him go at a significant transfer loss. So, it is likely that the club will give Woltemade every chance possible to succeed.
A loan move to Napoli might be interesting though, especially if a big option or obligation to buy clause can be agreed with the Italian club.
