Tottenham-linked Crystal Palace star has become the subject of an offer from Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Roberto De Zerbi has shown a clear preference for recruiting Premier League-proven talents this summer. All eight signings the club has made so far have all been playing in the Premier League for years.
Therefore, it would not be surprising if the Lilywhites end the transfer window by adding a couple more players from the English top flight. After the signing of Omar Marmoush on loan from Manchester City, De Zerbi and the N17 chiefs are not resting on their laurels. They are scouring the market to replace Djed Spence in the squad.
Following Djed Spence’s move to Inter Milan, Pedro Porro is the undoubted No.1 choice for the right-back spot, having signed a new long-term contract in N17 this summer. However, there is little quality in depth beyond Porro. Archie Gray started at right-back on the opening weekend against Brentford but endured a torrid afternoon, which was enough to signal the Tottenham board to sign a natural right-back.
Nottingham Forest make offer for Tottenham target
Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz has emerged as a target for Spurs. The 30-year-old has been an asset to Crystal Palace, both defensively and going forward, since joining from Genk in January 2024. With his consistent performances, the Colombian has become a coveted commodity in the Premier League.
Everton and Nottingham Forest have also been keeping tabs on the player, but it seems the latter has made their interest in him concrete. According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Nottingham Forest have made an offer worth up to £22million for Daniel Munoz, and it is being considered by Crystal Palace.
Oliver Glasner is keen to reunite with the Colombian right-back at Forest before Tuesday’s transfer deadline. Crystal Palace have already strengthened this summer with two right-sided defenders joining the club, which is why they are evaluating Forest’s offer for Munoz.

Will Tottenham hijack Forest’s bid for Munoz?
The decision to consider a replacement for Spence highlights De Zerbi’s determination to build a reliable, battle-tested squad for the taxing Premier League campaign. And the Italian’s interest in recruiting Munoz makes total sense.
Munoz has been a mainstay in Palace’s defence since January 2024, playing 109 times thus far. He is a Premier League-proven commodity with the ability to operate as a full-back and wing-back. At 30, he is at the peak of his powers, and for someone who is experienced, a leader and a winner, he will be welcomed at Tottenham.
The Lilywhites’ interest is rooted in a specific need. Munoz will not only provide quality cover for Porro, but also offer the kind of high-volume output that suits De Zerbi’s system. Forest have made their move by tabling a first bid. Whether Spurs are willing to hijack Forest’s move for the Palace star is the question.
