**[Everton](https://ReadEverton.com) have reportedly made a formal offer for Daniel Muñoz as they battle Nottingham Forest for the Crystal Palace right-back.**
The Toffees have been linked with the Colombia international throughout the latter stages of the summer window, but their interest now appears to have moved on.
Colombian journalist Julián Capera reports that Everton have made their proposal official, with the terms said to be similar to those Forest offered.
David Ornstein reported on Thursday that Forest had submitted a bid worth up to £22million, consisting of £20m up front and a further £2m in add-ons.
Crystal Palace are considering that offer.
Everton’s reported proposal would represent a significant development in their pursuit of Muñoz.
Previous reports had suggested talks were taking place, but without a formal offer being made. Capera’s update indicates that has now changed as the deadline approaches.
The 30-year-old would provide David Moyes with a natural option on the right of his defence, an area Everton have been looking to strengthen this summer.
Competition from Forest could complicate matters.
Oliver Glasner knows Muñoz particularly well from their time together at Palace and is now attempting to take him to the City Ground.
Capera describes the situation as an open battle between the two clubs, although the precise value and structure of Everton’s proposal have not been disclosed.
