To fill the void left by Savinho and Marmoush, City have reportedly identified Iliman Ndiaye as a player of interest. The Senegal international has developed into perhaps Everton’s most dangerous attacking outlet since arriving from Marseille in 2024, having first plied his trade in English football with Sheffield United.
That’s according to GiveMeSport correspondent Ben Jacobs and talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, who report that City sporting director Hugo Viana could make a move for Ndiaye before the window slams shut on Tuesday 1 September.
Further reporting from The Athletic cites that Manchester City are interested in a deal for Ndiaye, with Everton interested in a deal that would bring Jack Grealish back the Hill Dickinson Stadium after a loan spell last season.
Sacha Tavolieri has added that Manchester City have made initial contacts to assess a potential swoop for Ndiaye in the final days of the summer transfer window.

There is, however, a significant catch. Everton are said to value Ndiaye at around £80 million, a figure that reflects both his importance to the Toffees and the premium attached to signing a proven Premier League performer this late in the window.

At 26, Ndiaye would arrive with plenty of top-flight experience behind him, and his positional flexibility is exactly the kind of profile Maresca has come to prize.
Any deal at that valuation, though, would represent a substantial outlay for a player who would add depth and dynamism rather than walk straight into Manchester City’s strongest side.
For Manchester City, the immediate question is whether that interest hardens into concrete action, and whether the club are prepared to sanction an outlay in the region of £80 million for a player who is not necessarily going to walk into the starting XI.
