Leeds United have agreed a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign goalkeeper Michael Zetterer, with a medical booked, according to The Athletic.
The Whites have had a strong summer transfer window so far, bringing in Harry Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic, James Trafford, and Nico Elvedi to strengthen the squad after a 14th-place finish in the Premier League last season.
The club also started their new season in excellent fashion, defeating Nottingham Forest 1-0 in their Premier League opener, before a 2-0 win over the same opponents in the EFL Cup to progress into the third round.
But the Yorkshire side are keen to add more to their squad before the window shuts on September 1st, and Daniel Farke is now set to add another new goalkeeper to his options after a deal was agreed with Frankfurt for Zetterer.
The 31-year-old is expected to move to Elland Road to become the understudy for Trafford, with Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow having already left this summer, while Lucas Perri is also expected to depart just 12 months after joining.
Zetterer is set to be allowed to depart for the Premier League after Frankfurt complete a loan deal to sign Noah Atubolu, and Leeds have now scheduled a medical, with the club having already organised his travel arrangements.
The German made 22 appearances for Frankfurt last season in the Bundesliga, keeping six clean sheets, while he also started five games in the Champions League.
Leeds are hopeful of completing a deal in the coming days, with Lucas Perri also given permission to depart and join Serie A side Torino on a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer.

Zetterer Happy to Be Backup

Despite making 27 appearances for Frankfurt last season, Zetterer was considered to be the backup option at the club behind Kaua Santos, who suffered with injuries.
But speaking to the Bundesliga club's official website, he acknowledged his position as a number two and admitted that he is fine with it so long as the team is winning, something that bodes well for his time at Elland Road.
“There’s a very healthy competition for places," he said.
"Everything has been discussed internally and that’s the way it’ll stay. I’ve got a very good relationship with Kaua Santos. I asked around in advance to find out what he’s like because it’s very important for me that we have a good relationship in the goalkeeping team.
"The decisive factor for me is to perform well out on the pitch, that’s what I can control.
