U21s Host Blackburn, U18s at Home to Bournemouth

Town’s U21s host Blackburn Rovers at Portman Road in Premier League 2 this evening (KO 7pm), while the U18s are in action against AFC Bournemouth at Playford Road on Saturday morning (KO 11am).
The U21s will be looking to bounce back from Monday’s 5-0 defeat at Manchester United in their opening Premier League 2 fixture.
Winger Tudor Mendel and midfielder Charlie Compton (pictured) are likely to be involved having been boosted by making their senior debuts in Tuesday’s 3-1 Carabao Cup victory over Leicester City, the former Chelsea and Anderlecht man subsequently having signed a new contract.
The U18s will be aiming to build on last week’s 3-1 U18s Premier League win at Arsenal in which summer signing Chris Atherton scored a hat-trick.
In midweek, a youthful side featuring trialist keeper Calum Barnes, who is with Stevenage’s youth set-up, were beaten 1-0 at home by Stoke City in the U18 Premier League Cup.
