Charlton Athletic are looking to strike more deals before the transfer window ends, and Pete O’Rourke now states Tyler Bindon is set to sign. The Nottingham Forest man is due for a medical before joining CAFC on loan.
Bindon has had a steady rise through the divisions in the last three seasons. After breaking through with Reading, he earned a move to Forest but amid a struggle for action there, he joined Sheffield United for the 2025/26 season.

Although they were heavily defeated in their most recent fixture against Tottenham Hotspur, the Addicks have had an admirable start to their league campaign. They have won both Championship games so far, defeating Derby County and West Ham.
Bindon will hope to continue his progression with Charlton Athletic this season and continue the success the club have had so far this season.

Should the move go through, Bindon will likely form a centre-back partnership with one of Charlton Athletic’s best players. Lloyd Jones has won back-to-back Player of the Year awards and has started this campaign impressively too.
Jones excels in aerial duels, offering a serious physical presence and the back and cementing himself as a leader in the CAFC side. He produced a wonderful finish to score against West Ham too, showing his value in the final third.
Jones’ defensive partners have changed often in previous seasons though. The arrival of Bindon will hopefully bring consistency and solidity to the defence, with the youngster having played 26 matches last season.

Bindon, like Jones, also excels in both aerial and ground duels. He offers composure on the ball and a good passing range too though, so they could make for quite the pairing at the back.

Last season, Charlton Athletic often operated with three centre-backs in their side. They have changed system this season, opting for four at the back.
There has been change at the back already this summer. Billy Koumetio and Ivan Mesik have signed, although the former was forced to withdraw against Tottenham Hotspur and Collins Sichenje withdrew on a stretcher too.
If Sichenje faces a long spell on the sidelines, a new centre-back is a must. Bindon will be backed to take the starting role as well if Koumetio is absent too.
Reece Burke and Amari’i Bell are also options at the heart of defence. Jones needs to retain depth at the back and Bindon will provide that.
