**David Moyes has addressed the latest speculation surrounding Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish as [Everton](https://ReadEverton.com) prepare for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Bournemouth.**
The Blues boss also provided updates on Hayden Hackney, Christian Nørgaard and James Garner, discussed the prospect of further additions and spoke about players who could attract interest before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Ndiaye’s future has come under the spotlight amid reports of interest from Manchester City.
Moyes, though, made Everton’s position clear.
> “We are certainly not in a hurry to sell our best players.”
The Everton boss added that, as far as he was aware, the club had received no contact from anyone over Ndiaye.
It comes amid reports that City are considering a move for the Senegal international, with Everton’s valuation said to be around £80m.
Moyes was also asked about the possibility of bringing Grealish back to Everton.
> “We’ve not made any final decisions on that.”
He declined to discuss Grealish in greater detail, explaining that it would be wrong to name one particular player when Everton are looking at potential additions.
Asked how hopeful he was of further arrivals before Monday’s deadline, Moyes said:
> “Not sure, but we will try our very best.”
The Everton boss said this window had presented similar difficulties to others, although the World Cup had added another factor, while the sums being spent by clubs had also influenced the market.
Moyes has been encouraged by Everton’s performances and believes his side are creating more chances – something he wanted to improve.
He still feels the squad needs strengthening.
Moyes provided an insight into the recruitment process when asked whether he has the final say on signings.
His answer was “mostly”.
Everton have a large scouting operation, while the recruitment team and others work on identifying suitable players and establishing whether deals can be done at the right price.
Moyes then has a major role in the final decision.
Moyes was asked about keeping players who may want more regular first-team football, with Jake O’Brien raised as an example.
His position was straightforward.
It only becomes a consideration if Everton receive offers for those players – and Moyes said none have arrived so far.
With only a few days of the window remaining, that leaves O’Brien’s situation unchanged unless another club makes a move.
Moyes had positive words for Merlin Röhl’s attitude towards playing at right-back.
The German is keen to operate there, and Moyes believes he has done well when used in the position.
More importantly for the manager, Röhl has been willing to adapt rather than question being asked to play outside his usual role.
With Everton working with a relatively small squad, Moyes said he wants players:

Hackney rolled his ankle last week, explaining his absence from Wednesday night’s 4-0 Carabao Cup victory at Preston.
Moyes described him as “touch and go” for Bournemouth.
There was less encouraging news on Nørgaard.
> “Not making great progress at the minute.”
That suggests Everton may have to wait a little longer for his return.
Garner, meanwhile, is getting stronger after returning to the side at Preston, although Moyes said he remains short of full match fitness following his injury.
Barry heads to Bournemouth having scored a hat-trick at Deepdale in midweek.
Asked about the striker’s confidence, Moyes felt Barry had done plenty of work himself over the summer, while Everton would continue to support him.
Forwards invariably draw confidence from scoring and Barry could hardly have made a better start in that respect.
He followed his goal against Crystal Palace with three more against Preston.
Moyes wants Everton to maintain the strong away form they produced following his return last season.
He also praised the travelling support and acknowledged the expense involved for those following the team around the country.
Moyes has some knowledge of Bournemouth’s new manager, having previously travelled to watch one of his teams.
He believes Bournemouth have done an impressive job in recent years and expects another difficult test on the south coast.
