SUNDERLAND have been handed a glamour trip to AC Milan as part of their playing schedule in this season’s Europa League.
The highlight of this lunchtime’s draw gave the Black Cats a trip to the San Siro as one of their four away fixtures in the league phase of the competition.
Sunderland will also travel to the Belgian capital Brussels to face Anderlecht in one of their away matches.
Their final away games take them to Poland to play Lech Poznan and Portugal to face Torreense, who qualified for the Europa League by winning the Portuguese Cup as a second-tier side last season.
Sunderland’s home matches in the competition will see them host Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, Croatian team Dinamo Zagreb, Polish club Jagiellonia and Levski Sofia of Bulgaria.
The order of the matches has not yet been determined, with the dates, times and full match schedule now being arranged.
UEFA have stated that the match schedule will be published by Sunday at the latest.
