Jack Grealish has once again got Evertonians talking on a Friday, which also brought a reported offer for Daniel Muñoz, fresh transfer comments from David Moyes and a less encouraging Christian Nørgaard injury update.
By the afternoon, attention was also beginning to shift towards Bournemouth.
Everton travel to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday after winning their opening two competitive games without conceding, and Moyes has decisions to make both for that game and before the transfer window closes.

Grealish gets Evertonians talking again…
Jack Grealish knows how to get noticed.
On Friday morning, he shared footage on his Instagram Story of the goal which gave Everton a 1-0 win at Bournemouth last season.
Everton return to the Vitality on Saturday.
On its own, there would be little reason to read much into it. Grealish enjoyed his time with the Blues and it was one of the memorable moments of his season.
The timing is what makes it interesting.
Grealish is reportedly in talks over another move to Everton and Moyes was asked about him at his pre-Bournemouth press conference.
“We’ve not made any final decisions on that,” Moyes said.
An Instagram Story isn’t a transfer announcement. With a possible return already being discussed, however, Grealish revisiting his Bournemouth winner on the eve of Everton going back there was always going to be noticed.

Everton make their move for Muñoz…
Everton have reportedly submitted a formal proposal for Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Muñoz.
Nottingham Forest have already offered £20million plus £2m in add-ons, with Colombian journalist Julián Capera reporting that Everton have now made a proposal on similar terms.
That’s significant because previous reports had centred on Everton’s interest and talks. A formal proposal would move matters further along.
Moyes has spent much of the summer looking for another right-back and Muñoz remains one of the more established options under consideration.

Moyes responds to Ndiaye speculation…
Iliman Ndiaye was inevitably among the subjects put to Moyes on Friday.
Man City continue to be linked with the attacker, with reports suggesting they are considering an offer worth around £80m.
Moyes was in no mood to encourage the speculation.
“We are certainly not in a hurry to sell our best players,” he said, adding that, as far as he knew, Everton had received no contact.
There was less certainty over potential arrivals.
Asked whether more players would come in before Monday’s deadline, Moyes replied: “Not sure but we will try our very best.”

Nørgaard wait could be longer than hoped…
Christian Nørgaard provided the less encouraging part of the injury update.
Only last week, the summer signing described his problem as a small one and said he was “getting very close” to returning.
Moyes sounded rather less optimistic on Friday.
“Still not making great progress at the moment,” he said. “It’s not something where we’re going to get him back quickly, so we need to see how that develops.”
There has been no suggestion of another setback.
Even so, the change in tone suggests Everton may have to wait longer than initially hoped to see Nørgaard in competitive action.

Röhl gives Moyes another right-back option…
Everton’s pursuit of Muñoz suggests another right-back remains on the agenda.
Merlin Röhl, though, is giving Moyes an alternative within the squad.
The German was signed primarily as a midfielder but has been used at right-back, and Moyes revealed that Röhl has been keen to play there.
That willingness appears to have impressed the Everton manager, particularly with a relatively small squad requiring players who can cover more than one position.
It doesn’t mean Everton no longer need a specialist.
But if the right deal isn’t available before the deadline, Moyes at least knows Röhl is prepared to do the job.

Can Everton expose Bournemouth’s set-piece problem?…
There is also a game to win.
Bournemouth had problems defending set pieces last season and there were familiar signs in their opening defeat at Man City.
Marc Guéhi twice escaped his marker to meet deliveries with free headers, scoring City’s equaliser with the second.
Everton possess enough height to ask similar questions and Moyes has always understood the value of dead-ball situations.
It would be no surprise to see the Blues test Bournemouth early.
