Maresca has also suggested he is keen to add to the leadership quotient in his team.
"For sure, we have leaders. Now we need to wait four or five more days when the transfer window closes if we can add one or two more captains to Ruben [Dias] and Erling [Haaland], who at the moment are the two captains," he said in a news conference on Friday.
Palace, meanwhile, face a struggle to keep hold of forwards Ismaïla Sarr and Jean-Philippe Mateta with both being linked with exits before the window closes.
