**West Ham have been heavily linked with Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani in the last couple of days.**
In his latest transfer update, our insider ExWHUEmployee said: “Interestingly, a new name that has come into the mix for the winger position is another Leeds player.
This time it is Largie Ramazani, the Belgium under-21 international who spent last season on loan at Valencia scoring 6 goals in 27 league games.
“This is likely to be a loan move, and other Premier League players are being considered for loans too.”
West Ham have just two senior wingers in the squad, Jarrod Bowen and Manor Solomon. With one being the captain and the other being a proven top Championship player, they are both likely to start the majority of matches.
However, we don’t really have anyone to deputise for them should they get injured or have a drop in form.
We do have Joshua Ajala, who announced himself on the first team stage with a brace on Tuesday. However, it would be too much to ask of him to rely on him to be the only backup to Jarrod and Manor.
Ideally we would bring two wingers in, but because of the lack of transfer budget at the club this summer we are likely only going to sign one. So, that one needs to be comfortable playing on both sides.
A few weeks ago it looked like Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson was going to make the short trip to East London, but the clubs had doubts.
I completely agreed with the club on this; it seemed like a good deal, rumoured at £3 million.
However, the lack of game time he’s had over the last couple of years, the injury issues, the lack of blistering pace, his potential wage demands, and the lack of versatility.
In my opinion, Largie Ramzani would be a much better option for us, and he is available for a similar fee and will want much lower wages.
Bowen is obviously brilliant, and Solomon looks really promising. However, neither of them has blistering pace, and I feel like every squad in the world, no matter what level, needs at least one wide attacking player with that trait. We don’t even have one player in the squad anywhere with that.
Largie Ramzani has that; both his acceleration and pace are unbelievable. His biggest strength apart from that is his 1v1 dribbling; that’s something this squad could really do with off the bench, especially. He is also full of energy, another thing this squad has been lacking.
Largie Ramazani obviously wouldn’t be the most exciting signing, but it does fit the profile of player we should be looking at.
