PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye (18) has eventually agreed to join Aston Villa, after the two clubs had thrashed out a €55m deal for the transfer of the Senegal international, according to RMC Sport. The player is expected to fly out to Birmingham this Saturday to undergo a medical and complete final formalities to sign for Unai Emery’s UEFA Europa League winners. Mbaye is set to sign a five-year deal with the Villans.
RMC Sport understands that Aston Villa were long-time admirers of Mbaye. The Premier League side gradually made their interest known, until an agreement was found this Friday with PSG. RB Leipzig, Chelsea and Liverpool were also interested in making a move for Mbaye. The Reds withdrew from the race after PSG’s initial demands approached €70m. Eventually, Aston Villa’s outlay for Mbaye rises to €55m.
