A new era for Leeds United’s famous Old Peacock as pub unveils Kaiser Lounge ⚽
Leeds United’s best-known matchday boozer has just added a new spot for fans who want their pre-match pint with a bit more elbow room.
The Old Peacock – the much-loved pub directly opposite Elland Road – has unveiled a brand-new mezzanine bar after a major investment, turning a previously unused upstairs area into an exclusive space called The Kaiser Lounge.
Built as a dedicated matchday destination, the new lounge comes with its own bar and facilities. Its elevated position is designed to give supporters a different perspective while keeping the buzz that has long made The Old Peacock a cornerstone of the matchday routine.

The pub’s back story runs almost as deep as the club’s. The Old Peacock has stood on the site since 1826, when it was originally known as The Peacock Inn.
Across the road, land later developed by Bentley’s Brewery became a sporting ground – the Old Peacock Ground – which eventually turned into Elland Road, home of Leeds United since the club was formed in 1919.

Today’s Old Peacock building dates from 1963, replacing the original pub that stood closer to the road. Over the decades it has become a traditional meeting place for generations of supporters before and after games.

Ossett Brewery Pub Co founder Jamie Lawson, a lifelong Leeds United supporter, took over the venue in 2013 and has continued to invest while leaning into its status as the unofficial supporters’ pub.
He said: "The Old Peacock has always been much more than just a pub to me. As a lifelong Leeds United supporter, taking it on in 2013 was a bit of a dream come true, and over the years it has been fantastic to see how much the pub has become part of the match day routine for so many supporters.

"We’ve always wanted to build on what makes the Old Peacock special and this investment is very much about taking the next step.
“The Kaiser Lounge gives us the opportunity to offer something a little different for supporters who want a more premium experience before the game, while still keeping an exhilarating Old Peacock atmosphere.”
"We’ve packed the new space with plenty of Leeds United history and character, just as we have throughout the rest of the pub.
“Hopefully supporters will enjoy discovering all the little details, and the new mezzanine bar will become another match day ritual here at Elland Road."
