Leeds United will finally get their first home game of the new Premier League season through Sunday afternoon’s visit of Brentford - but what do the club’s fans think? Here is what our YEP Jury have had to say including disagreement on the predictions front, a “superb” Brentford warning and the game being a barometer to measure the Whites by.

Leeds United host Brentford on Sunday as Elland Road stages its first league home game of the 2026/27 season.
Many will see the changes, especially around the West Stand for the first time.
The project is not expected to be completed until 2030. Elland Road is certainly moving at pace in the limited time the builders had since last season ended.
The team changed for the Carabao Cup victory at Nottingham Forest but I’d expect the team that faced Forest on Saturday will start against ‘The Bees’.
The visitors had a superb 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur and looked a very impressive unit.
They are a team that seems to sell players at a profit and replace them with unknowns that blossom at the Gtech Stadium.
Make no mistake this is a tough game to start our home campaign and previously most of the games against our visitors have been tight affairs and I’m expecting one again.
With Noah Okafor nearing full fitness I could see him being the one to unlock their defence if he comes on in the second half of the game.
It would be an achievement to get back-to-back Premier League wins and I think Leeds will edge it by the odd goal.
Prediction: Leeds United 2 Brentford 1.
MIKE GILL
Tuesday’s Carabao Cup match was an even better performance than Saturday’s Premier League win against Forest.
Oliver Glasner admitted that his expensively-assembled side was a work in progress.
Forest’s problems last season were largely self-inflicted by their hire and fire policy.
By contrast United are a model of stability and consistency.
Another side that show the same virtues are Brentford.
When Thomas Frank left after seven years to sup from the poisoned chalice at Tottenham, the Bees gave a step up to their set-piece coach Keith Andrews.
A lot of experts questioned this move and said that Brentford should have brought in a ‘big name’
The Irishman stepped neatly into his new role and the west London club finished ninth last season.
Like United, the Bees have had a great start beating Spurs and seeing Birmingham City off with a 6-1 win in the cup.
They will come to Elland Road full of confidence but will it be enough to get them a result?
Thereby lies the fascination of our game.
A close thing certainly, but I’m backing United to do the business.
Prediction: Leeds United 2 Brentford 1.
DAVID WATKINS
Brentford at Elland Road is going to be a tough game, but after the start to the season that we’ve had with the two wins to nil against Forest, it is the sort of game that we need to really tell us how good this Leeds United team is.
On the face of it, the Bees have had an even better start than Leeds with a comprehensive 3-0 win against Spurs and the walloping of Birmingham City 6-1 at St Andrews in the cup, so they will travel north full of optimism.
But I’m sure I’m not the only Leeds fan who thinks our defence has improved significantly following the acquisition of James Trafford and Tarik Muharemović and is now amongst the best in class.
The Bees will test that hypothesis.
The only criticism that could be levelled at Leeds during those wins at the City Ground is that going forward we were perhaps not as potent as we will need to be as the season progresses.
Our three goals have come from an Anton Stach free-kick, a fringe player – Dan James – and one scrambled in by James Justin from an Ethan Ampadu long throw.
We need our regular forwards to start scoring sooner rather than later.
Prediction: Leeds United 1 Brentford 0.
EVAN SEAMAN
On Sunday, Leeds United welcome Brentford to Elland Road with both sides hoping to continue their good starts to their seasons so far.
Both Leeds and Brentford have won their first two games of the campaign, including the midweek Carabao Cup games when Leeds beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 whereas Brentford thrashed Birmingham City 6-1.
In terms of styles of play, Brentford play direct football with Keith Andrews and are known for being set-piece merchants and Leeds will have to keep an eye on striker Igor Thiago who scored an impressive 22 goals last season.
Leeds prefer a possession-based game with Daniel Farke and have their own threats going forward such as energetic midfielder Brendan Aaronson and poacher Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Brentford will miss Antoni Milambo and Sepp van den Berg due to injury, but they will be hoping new signing Callum Wilson will get his first league start after scoring in the cup game this week.
Prediction: Leeds United 2 Brentford 2.
NEIL GREWER
Last season’s fixtures against Brentford both ended in dour draws with long throws and free-kicks hoisted into penalty areas being a predictable boring occurrence.
So here’s hoping for a more entertaining game on Sunday.
Since last season Leeds have improved their attacking options and now have some real match-winners in their ranks in the likes of Noah Okafor, a rejuvenated Dan James, a Premier League free-kick expert in Anton Stach and opportunity creation machine Harry Wilson.
Add to this an upgraded back line with a roaming Joe Rodon and a fully fit Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Since the start of pre-season, Leeds have looked more impressive with each performance as new signings blend into the team.
To date, James Trafford, Tarik Muharemovic, Nico Elvedi have settled well and all ooze Premier League quality. Rarely do all new signings get up to speed so quickly.
I expect the same team to start as started the league season, except possibly Okafor for Aaronson – maybe one starts at home and the other away as the former adds more of an attacking threat with the latter being more “defensive”.
Prediction: Leeds United 2 Brentford 0.
