Aston Villa make audacious offer to sign another exciting winger after Mbaye - report

Aston Villa have reportedly looked to sign another winger despite reaching an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for Ibrahim Mbaye.

GIVEMESPORT sources understand that Mbaye has been given permission to complete a move to Villa Park in a deal worth €60 million (£51.3m). He is one of Europe's most exciting attackers and the West Midlands outfit have shown ambition, seeing off competition from the likes of Liverpool.

Mbaye will be looking to take up the right-wing berth in Unai Emery's frontline and help deal with Morgan Rogers' exit. The Villans have also signed striker Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea but that might not be the last of their business in attack.

Villa made a nightmare start to the new season after suffering a 4-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion. A disappointing display highlighted several issues in Emery's squad following the sales of Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Ezri Konsa and Ollie Watkins heading to Al-Hilal.

A move for Mbaye unfolded in the days that followed and it appears Emery's transfer chiefs have also tried their luck at signing Manchester United's Amad Diallo. A report from Ivorian outlet 225 Foot claims that they have 'officially submitted a concrete offer' to sign the Red Devils star.

Amad is a prominent member of Michael Carrick's first-team and only missed a shock opening day defeat to Hull City through injury. The 24-year-old is a player who gets fans off their feets but there are question marks over his end product.

Some unconvincing displays in the back end of last season led to slight murmurs from the Old Trafford fanbase about his future. But he remains an important player for Carrick and if reports are true Villa would be pulling off one of the most surprising transfers of the summer.

Rafael Leao - Joining Galatasaray

Amad has four years left on his contract at United having joined the club from Italian outfit Atalanta in a £37 million deal in January 2021. He's close to reaching 100 appearances for the Red Devils.

Emery might like Amad's Premier League experience and view him as an interesting option to use alongside Mbaye. He fielded a frontline of Emi Buendia, George Hemmings and John McGinn against Brighton, which speaks volumes of the ned for more depth.

A deal for Amad seems unlikely though because of his status in a United team that return to the UEFA Champions League this season. There's been no indication that he's pondering his future despite not always starting under Carrick.

There's also no word on how much the Red Devils value the Ivorian but you'd assume it will be over £50m. With just days left in the transfer window it would be a big surprise to see him move.
