Liam Millar has been linked with a move away
Liam Millar’s name has been in the news this week amid speculation that he could leave Premier League new boys Hull but he grabbed headlines for different reasons with a late winner in their 1-0 victory over Coventry.
With the Tigers said to be eyeing a move for Stoke’s Sorba Thomas in the final days of the transfer window, Millar’s name has surfaced as a potential makeweight in the deal, while the Canada international has also attracted interest from other Championship clubs.
Whether or not the 26-year-old makes a swift return to the second tier, he now has a Premier League goal to his name after capping a swift counter-attack in the 82nd minute, racing through on goal and slotting the ball home after Mohamed Belloumi won the ball from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto.

It came a little over five minutes after the second-half substitute had squandered a similar chance, that time set up by Oli McBurnie.
But Millar, who made three appearances for Canada at this summer’s World Cup, kept his nerve to continue Hull’s dream start to life back in the Premier League.
“I think Millar was a bit disappointed with the first one, and then he showed massive, massive b******s to score the second one,” McBurnie said of his team-mate.
“I’ll be honest, as a striker, it’s not the one you want when you’ve just missed a chance, where you’re running with it for 40 yards and you’ve almost got too much time to think about it.
“You want an instinctive one that you can just pass in, but he’s shown really, really big balls to go and finish that.”
