Highlights & Reaction as Bournemouth concede late again
Just like last weekend against Manchester City, Marco Rose’s AFC Bournemouth conceded in the 91st minute once again, this time to Everton.
Last week the stoppage-time goal lost the Cherries the game and a point. On this occasion, the late goal cost the Cherries the victory and all three points.
It would have been a well-deserved victory as AFC Bournemouth controlled the majority of the game, with lots of positive play.
Cherries stopper Petrovic was called upon to keep the visitors at bay on a couple of occasions, but it was the home side that carved out the most chances.
But, similar to away at Manchester City, it was yet more poor organisation at the back for a set piece that cost Marco Rose his first Premier League victory.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Rose said…
“At the end, that’s life,
“You have phases sometimes like this. On the other side I saw a top effort and attitude of my lads.
“We created many chances, we had a good goalkeeper, all what you need for a good game. At the end we had a phase where we could score a second goal two, three, four times to finish the game.
“It’s not even a set-piece this goal. It was just slapstick: two players tried to bring the ball out of the danger zone and then the opponent got the ball.
“Nobody did it intentionally. It was just unlucky and kind of slapstick.”
For home supporters, it was a welcome back to a revamped Dean Court. New seats throughout the Main Stand, North Stand and East Stand, with a change from red to black seats. New perimeter fencing enabling the club to have an open-plan stadium, giving supporters the ability to roam freely around the ground.
Between the South and East stands and the Main and North stands, the corners are also currently being filled in, the first phase that will eventually see the stadium capacity rise from just over 11,000 to 20,000.

Eva subbed killed us, in my opinion. Alvaro not up to pace; needs a wake-up call…stop walking around and losing the ball. Lost it on the halfway line for the corner they scored from as well.
There are positives to take from this.
First points on the board.
We are scoring goals.
We are defending actually very well, I think; Silva looks good so far.
Set pieces are crap and should be banned; who needs them?

Rodriguez lost the ball in the lead-up to their corner doesn’t look fit. Evanilson should’ve stayed on, as he should’ve last week as well.
Poor marking for their goal.
We were the better team; don’t know how we managed to drop points.
Scott was world-class.

Hard to talk about the positives after a sucker punch like that, especially as it was so self-inflicted, but here’s one: We’re a point better off this season than we were from the 2 corresponding fixtures last season.

Imo the positives are that we’ve had two decent halves across two games that indicate we should do okay this season. Dare I say I also think we defended corners better today after the first couple. Obviously, the last one was shocking, but it was individual errors rather than a technical issue like last week.

Arrived at the ground just after 2 pm after my wife dropped me off on Thistlebarrow Road.
Joined the far right of the queue for the A turnstiles, only to be asked to go through VIP turnstiles. Short queue, security check, and then somebody zapped my ST on my phone, and now inside the new compound.
Heard someone call my name, and it was HBA1 from our forum; had a chat and then entered the stadium and to my seat.
Nice new seats, and one big improvement: they now have handrails staggered up the gangway leading to all the rows of seats.
Now onto the game, the Cherries took the lead through Alex Scott after41 minutes after a good piece of play from Evanilson out on the right, just like last week against City, his second assist in as many games.
Thought we should have put the game to bed in the second half as we mounted a number of attacks on the Everton goal, but chances were blocked.
Then, as last week, we gave away a goal from a corner, and as last week it was in the 91st minute of injury time.
Even with all the transfer speculation recently re: Alex Scott, he had a really good game today and was my MOM.
