Nottingham Forest have sent Tyler Bindon out on loan to Championship pace-setters Charlton Athletic.
The highly-rated 21-year-old defender has joined the Addicks on a season-long deal, having featured 26 times on loan at Sheffield United in the division last season.
After appearing for New Zealand at the FIFA World Cup, Bindon was part of Oliver Glasner’s squad throughout pre-season but now moves south to join Nathan Jones’ side, who have won all three of their opening league games to top the table.
After completing his move to south-east London, Bindon said: “It’s a privilege to be here and I’m excited to get started. The way the gaffer talked aligned with what I want to do and I like the vision of the club. Hopefully I can be a part of that in a positive way.”

Manager Jones commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Tyler. Obviously we had to be reactive with certain injuries that we had, but Tyler is a player that I’ve known for a long, long time and have tried to sign. I’m delighted to have been able to do it now.
“He’s a player that comes with real good pedigree. He had a fantastic time at Reading and then got the move to Nottingham Forest. He’s a player that will add to us and improve our squad, so we’re looking forward to working with him.”
Athletic’s MD James Rodwell added: “Tyler is an outstanding young player who has been on our radar for some time. Following the long-term injury to Collins Sichenje last week, we needed to adjust and have moved quickly to secure Tyler’s arrival.
“His qualities and playing style align closely with the way we want to evolve as a team this season, and we’re confident he will make a strong contribution to that.”
